About Jason

Jason grew up on his grandparents' porch in the mountains of southern West Virginia, where his Pa-paw played banjo, his uncle played guitar, his aunt played spoons, and his Ma-maw and Dad would flatfoot. Music was never a lesson — it was just what his family did.

Now based in Kingston, NY, he carries that tradition forward as a solo one-man band — banjo, harmonica, spoons, bass drum, tambourine, and stomp board, all at once. His shows are loud, joyful, and completely unpredictable. Kids sing along, stomp their feet, and become part of the performance.
